Internal and External Conflicts in the Kingdom of Axum
There was not very much information on this topic, however, this is what I found.
One of the most famous conflicts within the Kingdom of Auxum took place around 523 CE when a Jewish king named Dhu Nuwas came into power. He declared that he would kill all Christians and attack an Askumite garrison at Zafar. He proceeded to burn down churches and attack the Christian stronghold, as well as persecute Christians who would not convert. However, Emperor Justin I of the Eastern Roman Empire requested fellow Christians to take the cause and, in 525 CE, the Christians invaded and were successful in defeating Dhu Nuwas. Until the year 525, there were several attempts made by the people of Axum to attack across the Red Sea, and, the Axumites finally left the Kingdom of Axum until the 20th century.
